However, at the end of the day, I found that I had holes in each gaiter about an inch above the thick fabric intended to protect from crampons. They fit well, performed great through a long stretch of post holing on an unbroken trail and I don’t really have any complains in that regard. I would say that these gaiters would be absolutely great if you aren’t wearing crampons but for my purposes, I can only justify a three star review. However, at the end of the day, I found that I had holes in each gaiter about an inch above the thick fabric intended to protect from crampons. This fabric needed to be about two inches higher to provide adequate protection since my crampons slashed the thinner uppers after one day of use. OR has been making this particular glitter for years and from what I read, they seemed to have perfected it but this is an obvious design flaw.
